Round 3, 10 Queen Street Posted April 1, 2024

ABOUT this time, four years ago I was waiting to take delivery of my first shipment of linen apparel from Lithuania. A lot had happened since that first order had been placed at the beginning of March 2020. On March 11th the WHO had declared Covid-19 a pandemic and here in Nova Scotia we went into a total lockdown on March 11. Not the optimum time to be launching a new business.
So much has happened since then. A "baptism by fire" learning curve in launching an e-commerce site and navigating the terrifying (for me) waters of social media. I’m still a poor “post-er”. I tell everyone that if they see a Tallulah post, know that I have agonized about it for hours if not days. This year I vow to post more. Apologies in advance.
While e-commerce carried me through those early days that coincided with the lockdown, it was lonely and once we were given a little more freedom of movement I was anxious to be out in the community with a brick & mortar shop and stop talking to myself and calling it conversation.
Now I’m ready to open Tallulah’s new home. The third (or forth) in the space of 12 months. While I'm still at 10 Queen Street in Bridgetown, the spaces - both mine and Angela’s are unrecognizable to the space you saw in the post flood days of November-December 2023.
Thanks to Darren Jones & Michael Phillips for juggling work to help me get to a timely finish line. To my crew of unpaid labour (aka friends) Angela & Brant, David Graves, Marcie Hirtle, Cindy Macdonald and to my sister Wendy and brother(in law) Reigh always ready to pitch in. THANK YOU.
I am excited to be a part of the growing retail sector in Bridgetown and I invite you all to swing by and say hi!.
Best,
Trudy
